Chinese carbon structural steels are steels used to make building materials of various shapes. Many structural steel shapes take the form of elongated beams with a specific cross-sectional profile.
According to different purposes, it is divided into the following types:
Carbon Structural Steels
Carbon structural steel refers to an iron-carbon alloy having a mass fraction of carbon of 0.04% to 2.0%.
It's mainly used in railways, bridges, and various construction projects to manufacture various metal components subjected to static loads, and mechanical parts and general welded parts that do not require heat treatment.
According to its carbon content, it also can be divided into the following three types.
1. Low carbon steel – steel with a mass content of carbon less than 0.25%.
2. Medium carbon steel – a steel with a mass content of carbon between 0.25% and 0.60%.
3. High carbon steel – steel with a carbon content 0.60%-2.0%.
General Carbon Structural Steels

Quality Carbon Structural Steels
Compared to general carbon steel, have lower levels of sulfur, phosphorus, and other nonmetallic inclusions. These steels includes: 08F, 10F, 15F, 08#, 10#, 15#, 20#, 25#, 30#, 35#, 40#, 45#, 50#, 55#, 60#, 65#, 70#, 75#, 80#, 85#, 15Mn, 20Mn, 25Mn, 30Mn, 35Mn, 40Mn, 45Mn, 50Mn, 60Mn, 65Mn, 70Mn.
Low Alloy High Strength Structural Steels
Low alloy high strength structural steel is a steel that adds a small amount of one or more alloying elements to improve the strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance or low-temperature impact toughness of general carbon steels.
These steels includes Q345, Q390, Q420, Q460, Q500, Q550, Q620, and Q690.
Weather Resistant Structural Steels
Weather resistant structural steel is a steel that increases the resistance to atmospheric corrosion by adding a small amount of alloying elements such as Cu, P, Cr, Ni, etc. to form a protective layer on the basic surface of the metal.
These steels include Q235NH, Q265GNH, Q295NH, Q295GNH, Q310GNH, Q355NH, Q355GNH, Q415NH, Q460NH, Q500NH, Q550NH.
